Legal Services Payment Options
Payment and options is always a difficult subject. Please read my legal qualifications before and after you review this page. While I am sensitive to the issue of a bad economy, and recognize that retaining a lawyer is the last thing that anyone has a desire to do, we are also extremely experienced and capable and demand and expect payment on a timely basis. Our rates are very competitive, but our experience, our ability and our dedication does not come cheap.
We accept checks, Credit Cards, Debit Cards and are willing to consider entering into time payments with a substantial down payment. Each case is individually analyzed according to the time investment that will be required for each and several payment options are generally offered.
Usually, criminal cases are quoted on a flat fee basis with payment required before service is rendered.
Family law cases can either quoted an hourly fee or a flat fee with a deposit into our trust account to cover the hourly fee. The amount deposited must be replenished when the trust account funds are expended.
Fees based upon an hourly rate and billed on a monthly basis is normally reserved for clients with a well-established credit and payment history with us.
In most cases a substantial initial deposit is required and clients out of Southern California are normally required to render cashier’s or bank checks.
The Law Offices of Charles M. Farano cannot and will not advance filing fees, expert witness fees deposition fees or other court costs.
Our philosophy is to render a ”full day’s work for a full day’s pay”. We would not expect any of our clients to work for anything less and expect the same from our clients.
